Morning Wake-Up

Recently I’ve been trying to add some stretching into my morning routine. It feels good to move in the morning and stretch out all the muscles and joints that get stiff at night. I also like taking some deep breaths to help bring some peace, calm, and oxygen to my mind and body. And purposefully engaging my core keeps me a little more in-tune with how my body is moving and feeling during the day.

Follow along as I take you through this short stretching routine. Repeat as many times as needed until you feel like you are moving better, breathing deeper, and are ready to tackle the day!

Tips:

  • Focus on small movements and gradually make them bigger as you do more moves or reps.
  • Breath in deeply and out deeply rhythmically. It doesn’t really matter when you inhale/exhale, just create a pattern that works for you and coincides with your movement.
  • As you breath out, engage your abdominal muscles by pulling your belly button in.
